Gert Rücker is forging a sustainable energy vision for the JMB Fashion team.

Expertise in the manufacture of clothing from the Styrian volcanic region, produced with the power of the sun and water – a long-term commitment that ultimately guarantees production from 100% sustainable energy.

The JMB Fashion team takes responsibility when it comes to energy. In cooperation with the local energy agency LEA in Auersbach, a comprehensive situation analysis was carried out in the company. On this basis, regular recording of energy consumption ensures greater awareness and makes potential savings transparent.

By switching to Vulkanlandstrom decades ago, Gert Rücker became one of the first in the region to source electricity regionally. Vulkanlandstrom is now generated exclusively from hydropower from the Berghof mill and the Lugitsch hydropower plant, both located on the River Raab, as well as from photovoltaic systems. A well thought-out offer from the former e-Lugitsch, now Kiendler GmbH, which makes the electricity from the socket at JMB a high-quality, regional brand product.

In times of global environmental catastrophes, the complete conversion of the company’s lighting to energy-efficient LED lamps in 2021 also marked an important milestone on the way to implementing the company’s energy vision. The innovative technical possibilities of LED lighting, including in terms of brightness and light color, also promise positive effects on well-being in the workplace.

An intelligent ventilation and heating control system installed in June 2024 in collaboration with the company BMSTech not only ensures a more optimal indoor climate, but also significantly reduces energy consumption.

As a next step, JMB is planning to invest in a photovoltaic system to demonstrate our commitment to a future fit for grandchildren.
